It’s here! The book I’ve been waiting for since it was announced almost a year ago has arrived in my mailbox.

Confession time: I’m already about 1/4 way through this book and I’m loving all the tips. Some of them are no-brainers, but others I wouldn’t have thought of in a million years. It’s so nice to have everything corralled into one volume! The book is full of budget-friendly tips for homeowners and renters alike. As a blogger, I’m in awe of success stories like this (and the Design*Sponge At Home book). I’d love to someday join the ranks of published bloggers!

I implore you, get your copy here!

The “Why” Behind Interior Design

Here at MFS I love to write about what I’m up do in my home and my ‘hood and, my goal is that, in reading my decorating experiences, you can gain some inspiration for decorating your own home as well.

Today I’m pleased to be writing for my friend Alyssa over at All Things Beautiful! Here at my blog, I don’t think I’ve really shared the why of why I love home design so much,  so hopefully that post will give you a little glimpse!

PS: You might remeber Alyssa from when she guest posted for me: The Best of Los Angeles for Free! If you didn’t get a chance to check her tips out, take a peek!

Floor Plan

Here’s a quick little map of our floor plan that I took from the apartment’s website and modified in MS Paint. Yep, nothing but the best for you guys on this Monday morning.

As you might be able to tell, We didn’t really follow the preconceived notion of where the living area and dining area should go. Creativity! I hope this gives you an idea of what we’re doin’ here! Posts forthcoming with actual photos (gasp, what a concept) so you can see our progress! I know I keep promising them but they really will be on their way.

How is your Monday going? Oh, I turned 25 this weekend. Does that mean I’m a grown-up now?
