Face Lift

I went ahead and took a photo from a local realtor’s site and used photoshop to show how easy it is to do a few minor updates (okay, maybe a fence isn’t “minor” but you get my drift) and make the house immediately look much more impressive.

Excuse the amateur work, but I hope you get the idea! I had fun trying this out :) If you want me to do a number on your house, I’d love to experiment. You can e-mail me a photo here!

Bad Blogger

My energy level is at o these days for reasons unexplainable. It’s affected my ability to come up with blogging material (obviously).

I was going to put up some pictures but I left my purse + camera at work yesterday… so no photos.

I know! I’ll make it Q&A day. Post questions for me in the comments (on my blog, not on the facebook feed post) and I’ll answer them!

PS: Here’s a video to hopefully get your energy level above mine!

My Cooking Playlist

My iPod came up with the greatest shuffle mix Wednesday night while I was cooking.

What was I making? Creole chicken and red beans and rice, but that’s not important. :)

Life on Mars – Seu Jorge (cover)
No One’s Gonna Love you Like Me – Cee-Lo Green (cover)
Je Veux Vivre – Faudel (French)
Untitled 1 – Keane
Strawberry Swing – Coldplay
L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever) – Kasabian
Sleeping Winter Fool – Kat Jones
Big River – Johnny Cash
Hong Kong Garden – Siouxsie & The Banshees

Click here for a playlist I made on youtube (you can make sure play all is checked and open it in a new tab and keep on keepin’ on).  The Kat Jones song isn’t on it because her song isn’t on youtube :(

Speaking of red beans and rice (were we?) I’m making another great Louisiana-style dish for Oscar night this Sunday! True Grit(s)! A collective groan would be appropriate here. Okay, that’s what I’m calling them on Sunday. The other 364 days I’ll call them by their proper name, Shrimp ‘n’ Grits. I’ll let you know how they go over, and if you wanna try it yourself, here’s the recipe on cookstr!  I’m doubling it, nixing the jalapeños, and subbing in milk for heavy cream (probably).

If you were going to make a dish inspired by one of this year’s Oscar-nominated films, what would you make?
