Sneak Peek Pup

Soon we’ll be getting a furry little friend!

Due to the Middle of the Map music festival we’re attending in KC next weekend, we’re holding off on taking him in until after it’s over (don’t want to leave the little guy for a weekend just mere days after getting him).

Nevertheless, Friday we went to the dog park in the next town over and played with this little guy for an hour and a half, and learned volumes from the people taking care of him right now. The next day we had our home visit by his temporary foster parent and we got the stamp of approval so we’re just waiting to hear back from the Italian Greyhound Rescue rep for how the rest of the adoption’s going to go down.

In the spirit of sneak peeks, here’s a blurry, artsy partial shot of our little guy.

Full disclosure: he was just squirmy and weaseled his way out of the picture.

I’ll give you a full-blown update once the deal is done!

Finally: The Office

It only took me a year to get this room in order.

That’s not entirely true. It took me like three days once we moved the bookshelf into the room. Finally, I had a place to put things other than the floor. Once I got rollin, I filled up a huge garbage bag with trash, organized things, and finished cleaning up the room. By the way, we found this shelf for free at the transfer station! Kind of like this and this… good things come from the dump :)

Voila!

The Easiest Part: Putting containers on the new bookshelf that were already appropriately-sized.

The Hardest Part: Dealing with piles of “important” paperwork that are worth keeping around, but which have no real place to file them.

The Most Fun Part: Hanging a long branch over the off-centered window and creating scrapbook paper bunting to balance the space. Since the window’s frosted, I enjoyed making an alternate window treatment without using cloth :)

For Japan With Love

Japan. As nerdy as the fact is, Japanese culture and Japanese animation were important, formative parts of my jr high and high school life. It’s because of this I’m as good as I am with websites/computers. So, I guess you could say Japan is important to me.

Sneaking this blog in before midnight because tomorrow (Friday) is the “Bloggers day of silence” to raise awareness (well, people are pretty much aware) of the crisis in Japan, but more importantly to show readers a way they can help out. By donating to Shelter Box, much-needed supplies will be sent over there. (By the way, click the link and check out the goal and current money raised. Phenomenal.)

Even if the donation is $5, I think I have at least 20 regular readers–if they all donated $5, that would be $100. Impressed by my math there?
