Moving

Just kidding. Yesterday we seriously toyed with the idea of moving across town to a 3-bedroom house with a fenced in backyard so that we could get a dog and really live the high life. We got the info, crunched the numbers, everything.

We aren’t.

It was fun to imagine decorating the house in my style with all our furniture, even having a guest room and an office, but the sad truth is we can’t afford it right now.

Who knows, maybe I’ll get one of these jobs I’ve been applying to and we’ll get the opportunity to move to a big city in another state. Gotta continue to be patient….

Week 4 in McPherson

My first month in McPherson is coming to an end. This week was filled with work, work, work! Doug came back from England on Monday which is the same day I started my new job at a “Client Service Specialist,” which is a fancy word for receptionist, at H&R Block. I worked 41 hours this week! This is great as it is a seasonal job and at least half of what I make is going into savings to be used for the months following tax season when I’ll find myself again unemployed.

And… to be honest that was pretty much my week. Unless you really really want me to, this might be the last of my weekly posts for a while since employment makes my life super boring.

The good news is, Doug just got back from England replete with funny anecdotes and amazing pictures he’s going to be gracious enough to post here little by little in the coming weeks.

Week 3 in McPherson

Sorry, no pictures this time…

Handed out a few more resumes, turned in some more applications,
Made dinner with Lisa every night (eggplant parmesean was a hit!),
Finished my second book of the year (Eat, Pray, Love)
Slept in till 10 or later every day (except today!)
Got my TB test in the works for the school district…..
Watched a few scary movies with Justin,
GOT A CALL FOR A JOB–THEY LIKED ME!
I start MONDAY!
Now i’m in Oklahoma, staying at my Aunt’s house tonight
Got to see the grandparents and some cousins
Tomorrow, going to a wedding shower in Texas!

Week’s been good… That’s all for now… DOUG comes back Monday!!!
