Told you I’d have photos if the haircut turned out. Sorry they’re a day late… I was shy because I’m breaking out like a 14 year old but figured the grown up thing to do would just be to rock it.

I had a lot of fun chopping my own hair of with a hairdresser’s razor. Just pull some hair out to the desired length, and whack!

Submarine Voyage

Today’s Google logo in honor of Jules Verne’s birthday brought back a rush of memories from one of my earliest trips to Disneyland. You know how it’s hard to remember a lot of things from childhood, but there are just certain ones that stand out vividly? One of my vivid memories is the Submarine Voyage ride at Disneyland.

I don’t remember how old I was, but I remember looking out the glass windows and seeing what life was like underwater (100% accurate, I’m sure). After some research on Disney fanatic sites, I learned that the live mermaids were discontinued before I was born, but I’m sure I saw some fake mermaids down there, which is what stood out to me at the time. This ride was AWESOME. After the ride had been disassembled in the late 90s, my middle school band played at Disneyland and our bus drove through the backlots. I saw pieces of the submarine voyage ride on some of their massive storage shelves and had the same vivid flashbacks I’m having right now.

Isn’t the art great on that poster? I wonder how much one of those would go for on ebay….

Snow Day!

Apparently adults DO get snow days! Yesterday, after my grumpy truck post, I got a call from work telling me not to come in. Our lunch party had cancelled and nobody was expected to go out into the nasty weather (5 degrees Fahrenheit and nasty, strong winds). So I enjoyed an unexpected day at home! You know how you have those things you should do, but never get around to? I did some of those things!!

With this unexpected free time I:

  • Did 2 loads of laundry (all caught up!)
  • Played CityVille on Facebook (guilty pleasure/obsession)
  • Thoroughly cleaned the dining room (okay, thorough is a relative term)
  • Thoroughly cleaned the bedroom (this one is true)
  • Spilled chicken noodle soup all over the kitchen (how do they allow me to work at a restauraunt?) and subsequently
  • Cleaned the kitchen
  • Transferred my makeup to a new makeup bag
  • Cleaned my makeup brushes
  • Repainted the nasty inside of a kitchen cabinet (photos sometime)

All of this [more or less] by the time I would have been coming home from work.

After all of that, I rearranged the room as you saw yesterday. I’m pretty sure that this is more than I accomplish in most weeks.
