Mexican Coffee

At least, that’s what I call it…

For a twist on your morning cup of mud, add a dash of cinnamon and the tiniest dash of chili powder to your grounds before brewing!

I do this in a regular drip Mr Coffee (this guy gets reserved for special occasions–that is, moments when we can actually sit around and monitor the stove), so you should be able to achieve it in whatever coffee maker you use. I always add milk to my coffee, so I hadn’t thought of it but… Doug said this isn’t his favorite flavor black. He prefers Mexican coffee with milk in it! Make yourself a latte and enjoy your summer morning!

No photos because it’s still brewing. Just got caught up in the moment and had to blog about it ;)

Espresso! Cappuccino!

Do you remember when I blogged about wanting this?

Well, we went to The Spice Merchant and they were having a sale, so I got one for only 16! It is a huge difference from the Mr Coffee my dad got me when I moved to San Diego. We still use Mr Coffee when we are too busy to tend the espresso maker on the stove, but when we have a few spare moments to make coffee in our new “Marimba” by Bialetti we certainly savor (literally and figuratively) the moment!

Also, how about those blue counter tops and backsplash? Yeesh.

Coffee Maker

It seems like everyone I talk to is obsessed with French Press coffee. Like, OBSESSED. And to put it frankly, it’s very annoying. That said, I would like to try something other than my trusty 4-cup Mr Coffee my dad gave me in ’07. Although I try to clean it regularly, it’s getting a little… musty?

Even though I’m not keen on French Press, this guy would look good in my kitchen. I have a coffee carafe this color and the dog dishes we just got are this color… (no dog yet, I don’t wanna talk about it…)

THIS is what I want to make espresso at home. Same price as a French Press and reminds me of mornings at Angela’s house. Gonna save my pennies!
